Jason Samora, son of former Bike champ Paul Samora, rode to the season-opening win in just his sophomore year of competition, using a dead-on 10.904 from his Penn-Ohio Motorsports street bike to turn back Jesse Baker in the Vanson Leathers Bike final. The Junior Dragsters completed their first event, with J.T. Miller capturing the Jr. Super/Pro title when reigning Track Champion Corey Griffith fouled. Sarah Simmons defeated Mike Donell in Jr. Pro, and Katie Madonia won the all-girl Jr. Stock final against Alissa Wortman. Rain shortened the remainder of the program, which was finished by lottery.
