SportsmanRacing.com ¼-Mile Extravaganza Brings Big Bucks To QCR

Salem, Ohio - Quaker City Raceway (QCR) has announced that SportsmanRacing.com will sponsor the mammoth ¼-Mile Extravaganza big-buck racing weekend, June 12-15, 2003.  The $5K/$10K/$5K event is expected to draw top racers from as far as Florida and Texas to compete at the Salem, Ohio IHRA facility.

QCR opens Thursday evening for the early arrivals, with a test and tune from 5:30 – 10:00 pm. The $5,000 to win Box races are slated for Friday and Sunday, while the $10,000 to win event will be held on Saturday.  No-Box racers will compete for $1,000 each day.  First round buybacks are permitted in each event.  There will also be a Bonus Gambler’s Race on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, for $1,200 to win.

Drivers can buy a full weekend entry for the Box class for $200 or $75 for No-Box.  Weekend entries receive a free entry into the Thursday test and tune.  For racers attending single days, the entry fees are:  $75/day for $5K, $100 for $10K, and $30/day for No-Box.

Gates open at 5:00 pm on Thursday, and 10:00 am the rest of the weekend.  Time trials will begin at 10:30 am each day (Sunday, 1 run only).  Eliminations start at 3:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 1:00 pm on Sunday.
